2007 Texas Action Championship

Apr. 28. Texas Action Championship. The Texas Action Championship drew 34 players this year, and 80% of the advertised prizes (b/40 full entries) were paid. There was a five-way tie for first that included Selby Anderson (2206), Arthur Macaspac (2082), Anthony Guerra (1854), Ju Ahn (1655), and Gabriel Guerra (1589), all scoring 4-1 and receiving $100 (= 1/5 of 1st+2nd+U2100+U1900+U1700). Abiram Viswanath won $60 U1500 prize with 3.5, and Murtaza Aarastu won the $40 U1300 prize with 2. Preston Garcia, Malachi Burrough and Timothy Shanks tied for the Unrated prize with 2.0 for $13.33 each. Junior book prizes went to Gabriel Guerra, Abiram Viswanath, Nathaniel Lozano, Raul Flores and Malachi Burrough. Martin Gordon directed the event, held Apr. 28 at TNI. More later.
